There are many things that we are able to do when trying to decorate our kitchen cabinets. One of the more common is to add lighting inside and around it. Cabinet lighting is not uncommon to see in many homes and can be helpful when placed in the appropriate spots. There are two ways in which they can be installed; under the cabinet and inside the cabinet.
Under Cabinet Lighting
Under kitchen cabinet lighting is the most helpful and the most common to use. These small lights are installed beneath the bottom of the cabinets that sit a few feet from the surface of the countertops. You can place one or two along the bottom and spaced a couple feet apart from each other. Another way to do it is to use much smaller lights and string them above the length of the cabinet.
The main purpose of under cabinet lighting is to provide your kitchen with more light when you are working. It is especially useful at night when you like to keep a light on in the kitchen that is will allow you to see what you are doing without casting too much light around the rest of the house. Using these at night will also help you to conserve energy.
Inside Cabinet Lighting
Inside kitchen cabinet lighting is another method that you can use which will help to decorate the cabinets. The only time that you can use this type of lighting is when you have glass kitchen cabinets. It is best to use one small spotlight that is installed into the top of the cabinet and is well hidden inside the wood. You can also use a small light that is fastened into the top of the cabinet in the inside.
Both types of lights help to display your favorite dishware, crystal, and china. They also help to add a soft, warm glow to the kitchen when it is not being used. This type of lighting should only be used on the top kitchen cabinets or kitchen island cabinets.
