Measure The Cabinets
Before you are able to purchase the knobs you first have to measure the cabinets. If you are replacing them then you only need to measure the existing knobs or pulls. On new cabinets you need to measure on the cabinets the length that you want them to be. When you do not measure you will end up with misplaced holes that will require more work to fill them.
Buying Kitchen Knobs
When purchasing kitchen knobs you need to choose the type of material you want to use and what type they should be. For long cabinets and drawers it would be better and easier to use the long pulls. For shorter cabinets you will want to use the kitchen knobs. Remember that each of these will help to add to the design of the kitchen cabinet. Because of this you want it to use materials and a style that will look great and not clash with the cabinet.
Installing Kitchen Cabinets
When replacing the kitchen knobs all you have to do is unscrew the old ones and screw in the new ones to the preexisting holes.
When putting in a new one you want to make the holes and the distance they should be. Make sure that every knob or pull will be in the exact same spot on each cabinet in the kitchen. Use the electric drill to create the holes and then screw the pull into it. When installing knobs there will be extra holes – which you will need to cover with wood putty and paint.
